Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! I got so many lego sets it took me almost three hours to build them all! On Christmas Eve mom helped us sew new pillow cases and then suprised us with new pjs she had made. I hope everyone else had a great holiday!

Preschool program and a hike

Last week I put on a program for the parents at preschool. It was a lot of fun! We did the "reindeer poky", sang jingle bells, and did a short play. I also got to go for a hike with the family and play in the snow. 

Ski hill

We were able to go sledding at the ski hill today and it was so fun! We even hiked up the big hill and went sledding down with my friends. 

Oh Christmas Tree

We put up our Christmas tree last night and it was so fun! Lucy and I had made a lot of ornaments for it the day before and we got to hang them all on the tree. Tomorrow I get to have breakfast with Santa which I am really excited about. 

Swimming

Since my swim lessons I have been getting braver in the pool. I take some time every time to practice without my life vest. This week I did great and swam all alone to the wall! It was so fun!

Tree lighting

Friday was the big tree lighting in town. The tree is right across the street from our house, so we get to see all the lights a lot! After the tree lighting we went to a food and craft fair at the Cordova Center. Such fun!

Lego maniac

I have become obsessed with legos. I spend a lot of time at the table putting together and taking apart the small sets of legos I have. And when I made my Christmas list the other day it only had legos on it. Scooby doo legos, spiderman legos, legos, legos, legos!

Happy thanksgiving

I hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving! We are going camping and I am very excited to have s'mores! Here are some crafts I made at preschool this week to celebrate the holiday. 

Snow day

The other day it snowed while I was at school, so on the walk home we made snowmen! We don't have a yard at the house we are renting right now, so we decided to make them on main street! Right after the second picture was taken, our big snowman fell on Lucy.  She was fine, and I thought it was pretty funny.  After I went to bed that night it started to rain and washed away our snowmen. 

Weaving

I got a weaving loom recently and I have been really enjoying it! I have finished one hot pad and I am working on another.  Mom has to help me finish them, but I enjoy coming up with the color patterns.  I think I will keep working hard to make everyone one!

Family time

Dad had Wednesday off from work, so it was a fun treat to have him home in the middle of the week! The weather was great, so we bundled up and went to the school park.  I had the great idea to all pile on the swing with Dad.  We weren't able to swing for a long time like this, but it was fun!

Face painting

The past few days we have gone to some very exciting events in town.  Yesterday was the grand opening of the Cordova Center, which is the new city center my Dad helped build.  It was a lot of fun! I got my face painted like a tiger, which was great.  Then today we had a carnival at school and I got my face painted like a tiger AGAIN! Mom tried to wash my face, but she says I might look like an oompa loompa for a few days...

New hat

Mom knit me a new hat and I love it! I have quite the selection of hats to choose from and love wearing them around town.

Trick or treat!

We had a great time yesterday! Halloween was a BLAST! We had my birthday party, went trick-or-treating, and got to go for a ride on the fire truck. The weather was wonderful and I declared it the BEST Halloween EVER!

Vacation!

I got to go on vacation to visit all of my grandparents! It was a great time.  And this time we took a PLANE to Anchorage instead of the big boat.  It was my first flight (that I remember, Mom says I have been on planes as a baby) and I thought it was pretty cool. I got snacks and juice, and it only took 40 mins to get to Anchorage.  Yea!

I got my haircut while I was in town.

We went to the zoo and saw some baby brown bears. 

Birthday!

Yesterday it was my birthday! I am FIVE!! I had a great day. I made snickerdoodles for my preschool class and I got a crown. I also got some fun new games and a cop uniform! 

Piggy back ride!

I am constantly giving Lucy piggy back rides around the house. It is great fun for both of us…if only she were big enough to carry me around too!

Field Trip!

Earlier this week I went on a field trip with my preschool.  It was SO fun! We got to take the school bus to the fire station and learn all about what firefighters wear and how they help us.

Family hike

This past weekend we went for a hike on a nice boardwalk and looked for ducks.  It was a great day and we just missed the rain! On the way home we stopped for lunch and hot chocolate.

Hunting trip

This weekend Dad took me on a quick hunting trip.  We went out one morning to look for moose.  We didn't find any, sadly, but I still had a lot of fun! 

Balancing act

This week at the park I have been practicing my balancing so that I can join the circus.

Crazy week

We had a crazy week! I started swim lessons (and I am doing great!), it was minion night at the library, I got pretty sick, and went 4-wheeling! Thankfully I am feeling a lot better now. 

These are actually Lucy's pjs, but they are too big for her. I squeezed into them for yellow guy night at the library. 

We got a 100-piece puzzle and put it together with mom! 

And today I went 4-wheeling! 

Lucy is 3!

Lucy had a birthday this weekend and it was a ton of fun! The rain gave us a break just in time to party outside.  Dad's friends Bjorn and Katie were here this weekend and that was also a ton of fun.  I really enjoyed reading with Katie!

Puzzles and mazes

There was a spiderman puzzle at Salvation Army this week that I desperately wanted.  While I was at preschool today my mom went by and picked it up.  We were able to put it together after school! It was a 100-piece puzzle (but was missing three pieces)!

It also turns out that I am a maze genius. I have been doing mazes faster than Mom can print them out!

Fair Fun!

This past weekend we made a quick trip to Anchorage to visit the grandparents and I got to go to the state fair.  It was loads of fun.  I got to go on a few rides, play some games, see racing pigs, get my face painted, and even got cotton candy.  A great day!

Preschool!

I went to my first day of preschool here in Cordova yesterday! It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back again today.

4-wheel fun

We took the 4-wheeler out yesterday and had a blast! Mom even rode around with me for a bit which was a lot of fun. 

New hat

Grandma Maverick send Mom some super fun new yarn and I now have a new hat! It is blue (of course) with a bear head on top.  I love it and even wore it to bed last night.

Fun with Dad

Yesterday Dad and I did a lot of work in the garage. I was a great helper! We even walked to the coffee shop and got a hot chocolate and a coffee cake (but don't tell Lucy!). 

4-wheeling

Yesterday we spent the day 4-wheeling with some friends! It was a LOT of fun. My friend has his own 4-wheeler and he gave us rides around and I even got to drive myself. We cooked hot dogs over a fire and ate s'mores. A wonderful day!

Berry picking

Today we went berry picking with some friends. I had a great time and collected a lot of blueberries!
