Cordova Clean up

The last weekend was Cordova Clean Up day, so we got our rain gear on and picked up a bag full of garbage.  I always try and pick up trash when I walk to and from school, but I got to explore a hillside while I collected trash this day.  It was rainy, but fun.

Adventuring

There was a break in the weather, so Dad and I took the 4-wheeler out for a quick trip.  It is always fun to go on a little adventure.

Winner!

This weekend we went to the health fair and I won a new bike! I have been practicing and hope to be able to ride to school a couple of times before the end of the school year...if the weather cooperates.

Art Show

My art is hanging in the museum right now for the art show "Ish".  It is based on a book we all read in school.  My piece was selected to hang in the front, which was exciting!

Sweaters

When we got back from Spring Break Mom had knit us all new sweaters! I have been wearing mine every day. It is perfect sweater weather around here.

Spring Break

I got to spend Spring Break with my grandparents and it was a blast! We did all sorts of things and I even got to dye eggs.

Thanksgiving

It was just Dad, Lucy, and me for Thanksgiving this year, and it was a lot of fun! Without Dorothy around we were able to play games all day and work on a few projects that have too many little pieces for her to be around.  I really enjoyed it.

Skiing

The weather has been great! They have been making snow at the ski hill and I have been able to go skiing a couple of times.  I am really enjoying going skiing.

Halloween

Before we went trick or treating we went to the forest service to go to the "bat cave".  We learned a lot about bats, made bat ears, and even got some snacks!

Rocks

We are still hiding and finding rocks around town! It is always fun to find a little piece of art when walking around.

Matching Shirts!

The girls and I got some coordinating dinosaur shirts in the mail the other day from Grandpa and I was so excited! I enjoy matching with the family....we all even wore jeans!

Tye Dye!

For Lucy's birthday we all got to tye dye a shirt, and here is how mine turned out!

Scavenger Hunt

We went to a fun scavenger hunt this weekend! I raced ahead and read all the clues myself...it was a lot of fun and I won some cool prizes.

1st grade

Today was the first day of school. I was so excited! Even though it was raining, we still walked to school....it felt really far because my backpack was so heavy. But I refused to give up, and I made it!

Still Rocking

We are still having a blast painting, hiding, and finding rocks around town.  Here is one I found yesterday on the walk home from checking the mail.

Salmon Jam

This past weekend was Salmon Jam, which is always a lot of fun in town.  I ran the one mile fun run and got a great time.  Next year I plan on doing the 5K!

July

I spent a little over two weeks visiting my grandparents in town which was a lot of fun! And I got to go help Dad at our property for a day, which I really enjoyed. The summer is flying by!

Cordova Rocks!

Our town has starting painting rocks and hiding them around town to make people smile.  Lucy, Mom, and I have been painting a lot of rocks and have had a blast finding different ones around town! Here I am hiding one that I made.

Hike

We have been taking the dogs out the road to go hiking after Dad gets off of work.  We were using sticks to map out how big our cabin in Talkeetna is going to be tonight.

Big Haircut

Now that school is out, it was time to get my hair ready for summer.  I think I lost about five pounds of hair....
